Carlos Possolo

Nasceu em Lisboa em 1967

Licenciado em Pintura pela Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa com a classificação de 18/20. No ano de 1995 leccionou nesse estabelecimento de ensino universitário como assistente convidado. Frequentou o curso de Arquitectura da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa de 1986 a 1989. Colaborou com os Correios de Portugal na produção de originais para a emissão de selos, destacando-se a série comemorativa do 5º Centenário da Viagem de Vasco de Gama. 

Colaborou nos nove primeiros números da edição portuguesa do National Geographic Magazine. 
As suas pinturas encontram-se distribuídas por várias colecções, das quais se destacam as do Museu de Setúbal, do Banco de Portugal e dos CTT.

Barahona Possollo (Lisbon, 1967) is a Portuguese painter.
His work is characterized by an abundance of warm colors, with shades of silky shadows, and an almost photographic detail with high technical quality. His subjects are often mystical and iconography, though their approach to the representation of mythology beyond the traditional: the gods of ancient Greek and Roman The Catholic saints, the fauna and other mystical creatures are seen often in unexpected poses and attitudes, often in scenes of almost surprised your privacy. Also to note is the high load erotic (particularly homoerotic) A part of his work with the representation of bodies often naked, always very beautiful and young.
He has participated in several joint and individual exhibitions and his works are represented in many museums and private collections.
He has also collaborated with Portugal in the Post edition series of stamps, including the highlights of the series commemorating the 5th Centenary of Vasco da Gama Travel .
